In 2011, Ari Joshua, Bob Lovelace, John Ewing, and David Appelbaum came together to form Space Owl. The band started playing original compositions around the Pacific, with most of the original material being brought in by guitarist and singer-songwriter Ari Joshua. Bob and John also contributed to the band's material. While there have been a few keyboardists and drummers in and out of the project over the years, the core members have remained the same.
These guys clearly march to the beat of their own drum, unafraid of what others think of them or their music. This attitude has resonated positively with listeners who identify as non-conformists or outsiders. If that sounds like you, then "Mountain Song" is the perfect anthem for you.
Space Owl's latest track "Mountain Song" offers a refreshing escape into a vast and open soundscape. With its energetic and lively acoustic guitar riffs, and a pulsing bassline, the song can be described as a fast-paced meditation experience. The addition of warm percussion and smooth vocal harmonies at precisely the right moments creates a seamless and fluid listening experience that encourages introspection and self-reflection. The band's delivery style and the instrumental arrangement work together effortlessly to connect the listener's body and soul in a natural and organic way.
Without even noticing, the rhythmic beats and melodies of Space Owl's music have a calming and invigorating effect on the listener. The band has released four singles since 2021, including "Home," "I Will Come to You," "Thunder and Lightning," and "Why Does Love Always Break Your Heart," and their latest release, "Mountain Song," on June 20th. This track is truly special, offering a unique listening experience that resonates with the human soul.
