“KING CHARLIE CAN’T DANCE” by Griffo & Lord

Matt Griffo and Jason Lord met in Chicago while writing the minor cult hit "Jersey Shore: The Musical. Finding ease in their musical partnership, they embarked on an experiment: a concept album of "fake collaborations" created by randomly drawing names of musical artists out of a hat, two at

a time, and writing/recording what they'd imagine a collaboration between those two artists would sound like.

The singles from the project were released as the album "Splice" in May 2021. A subsequent holiday single was released in December 2021.

MATT GRIFFO AND JASON LORD

From the album "Splice" featuring imaginary

collaborations from artists chosen at random. This track is the imagined pairing of Steely Dan and Elvis Costello.

King Charlie Can’t Dance is the sixth track on the nine track album splice and it’s spotted here on BlogNet. Their fans and listeners will not be disappointed. I feel like the album is more charging than the early work, masterfully isolating the tuneful lyrics and innocent vocals from Matt and Lord. There are still wonderful backing vocals and enough hooks and melody to keep you humming the songs throughout the day. Listen to King Charlie can’t dance here! and other tracks on the spice album.
